Casa Almirall – one of Barcelona’s oldest bars

If you’re on the lookout for a good bar, Barcelona, like so many other big cities, leaves you spoilt for choice. Casa Almirall, however, is rather unique, and is definitely one you shouldn’t miss! Not only was it established in 1860, and is therefore one of Barcelona’s oldest bars, it has also always been a bar. In fact, if you ask the staff about it, more likely than not, they will fill you in on its history, and perhaps also give you a postcard showing you who frequented the place over 150 years ago.

Built in the Modernist style, which is basically the Catalan equivalent for Art Nouveau, it’s still got a lot of its original interior and is remarkably well preserved. Needless to say this place’s got a lot of soul! That, alongside its history and amazing interior, makes it one of my favorite places to go out for drinks!

Top tip; try the local drink Oliveta!

doesn`t matter, i`m sure is a good place to take a drink, specially if it is the oldest tavern in barcelona.
