Rehabilitation of Tomina Hair Salon.
When Tomina wanted to upgrade their salon, we developed a concept as a basis for the choice of
colours, materials and furnishings. The concept that was chosen can be summarised as set-change (with reference to theatre);
not only would the salon undergo major changes, but the nature of a hairdresser’s profession
is precisely that of changing the customer’s physical appearance before they again “enter the stage”.
The concept was implemented into the design of the salon based on nature and tranquility,
sand, sea and sun – elements often used in relaxation and meditation.
Subtle colours were chosen for walls and around the mirrors to create a harmonious feel.
Due to limited space in the waiting area, the tables and coat stand were custom made and
designed for the salon. And since the hairdressers are located on a busy street,
the window display and presentation of the salon was implemented as an important part of the project.
Interior design work included conceptual presentations, design of custom made furniture, project management, lighting consultation,
colour, material and furniture selection, design of window display, execution and on site monitoring.
