Looking for an inspiring place to stay whilst in Barcelona?
You’ve definitely come to the right place!
yök Casa + Cultura not only offer you a bed to sleep in and a roof over your head, – add design, innovation, sustainability, culture and interaction, set it in an historical context and finally sprinkle some modern upcycled design over it, and you’ll begin to get an idea of why this place has ticked all our boxes…
First things first; the apartments are modern and fresh looking, and you have everything you need. Secondly, many of the building’s original features have been preserved, gently setting the tone for the casas, whilst also giving you an insight into its history, and a 1-2-3 lesson in Catalan Modernism.
Now why are we talking about apartments and casas? Well, yök Casa + Cultura consists of 3 flats in various sizes, all with a certain number of bedrooms linked to their own bathroom, kitchen and living space. That’s right, you can experience what it’s like to live in a Modernist house in the Eixample area, nip down to La Boqueria or one of the many other fresh food markets around, and cook your own food in the kitchen. You can live in Barcelona, like the Barcelonese, during your stay. Casa is catalan for house or home, and these flats feel closer to a home than a hotel.
In addition to fulfilling our criteria of great design, great location and great concept, the owners Petz and Mari are passionate about culture, hence the last part of the name. This means that they seek to reflect a real Barcelona, creating a social hub of interaction between the locals and those visiting. After all, isn’t that really what travelling is all about? They want to be “good for People, the Planet and Profit”, discouraging mass-tourism, thinking slow, and applying good design, but all the time through eco-innovation and sustainable thinking.
They’ve inspired us – now let them inspire you!
Moreover, check out their casas, prices and availability, and start planning your next Barcelona visit.
